Instructions
Step 1: Route the Power Cable Into the Battery Box
Route the Power Cable provided with the HerdHand into the battery box, ensuring there is enough wiring to reach the battery posts.
Tip: Use zip ties to secure wiring in place and tuck any excess wiring out of reach of livestock to prevent them from chewing on it.
Step 2: Shut Off Charge Controller
Before continuing to the next step, ensure the charge controller isn’t sending power to the battery.
Step 3: Connect the Power Cable to the Battery
Loosen off the battery posts and connect the bare lead of the power cable directly to the battery posts. The Black Wire should be connected to the Negative/Ground Post and the Red Wire should be connected to the Positive Post.
Step 4: Tighten Battery Terminal
Tighten the battery posts and double-check that the Power Cable is secured tightly to the battery post. When finished, you can resume power output to the battery.
By following these steps, you’ll be able to successfully connect the HerdHand Power Cable to a battery. If you need further assistance, please contact our support team.
